How to disable and enable board nomination

Prerequisites:

Ensure you have administrative rights to access and modify member database fields in the WildApricot platform. A web browser is needed to verify results.

Enabling Member Edit Access for Board Election:

  1. Login to WildApricot:
    • Navigate to the WildApricot login page.
    • Enter your administrator credentials to log in.
  2. Access Members Section:

    On the dashboard, click on the Members tab from the left-hand navigation pane.

  3. Customize Member Database Fields:

    Under the Members tab, find and click on the Membership fields option.

  4. Enable "Active Candidate" and "Candidacy Statement" fields
  • Click on field name

  • Look for Member access and change value to Edit, in own profile
  1. Click Save all changes at the top of the page


Disabling Member Edit Access and Resetting "Active Candidate" After Elections:

  1. Login and Access Members Section:
    • Follow steps 1 and 2 from the enabling instructions above.
  2. Reset Active Candidate Field:
    • Navigate back to the Members section. 
    • Choose List or Summary view to see all members. 
    • Filter or search for members with the "Active Candidate" field set to active or true. 
    • For each of these members, click on their profile and set the "Active Candidate" field to inactive or false. 
    • Save the changes for each member.
  3. Customize Member Database Fields:

    Click on the Membership fields option under the Members tab.

  4. Locate Board Election Fields Below the "Board" Section:

    Scroll down to the board election-specific fields.

  5. Disable "Active Candidate" and "Candidacy Statement" fields

  • Click on field name
  • Look for Member access and change value to "View only"
  1. Click Save all changes at the top of the page

Tip: Communication is key. Inform members about the start and end dates of the election process, so they are aware of when they can and cannot edit their fields.
