Charles River Wheelers runs on members who volunteer their time, experience, and ideas. This October, CRW members will elect the club's Board of Directors. If you care about where the club goes next, consider putting your name forward.

    Why Should You Consider Running?

Board members help set priorities and support the volunteers who organize rides, events, programs, communications, and member services. You do not need previous Board experience. Members with different backgrounds and perspectives make the Board stronger.

Ready to Throw Your Helmet in the Ring?

    The process is straightforward:

    1. Confirm your eligibility. You must be a CRW member in good standing when voting closes on October 8.
    2. Learn about the role. Read the CRW Bylaws and join the optional virtual Prospective Candidate Info Session on September 17 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM ET. ** Register for the session. **
    3. Declare your candidacy. By September 23 at 11:59 PM, update your member profile to identify yourself as an Active Candidate, submit a Statement of Candidacy explaining why you want to serve on the Board, and make sure your profile includes a photo.
    4. Meet CRW members. Candidate statements will be published on September 25. The optional virtual Meet the Candidates forum will be held on September 29 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM ET. ** Register for the forum. **

    Election Dates

Candidate declarations are open from September 14 through September 23 at 11:59 PM. Voting opens on October 3 and closes on October 8 at 11:59 PM. Voting instructions will be emailed to eligible members before voting begins. Election results will be announced on October 9.

    What's Next?

If you're on the fence about running, join the Prospective Candidate Info Session on September 17 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM ET. It is a low-pressure way to learn about Board responsibilities and ask questions. ** Register for the session. **

For questions about the election process or Board service, email secretary@crw.org.

    Bike for the Woods!

    Come join the fun!

Sunday, August 9, 2026 the Stow Conservation Trust will run its annual Bike for the Woods charity bike ride event!

There are rides for all ages and ability levels and all are scenic and arrowed! Rides range from 5 (particularly good for families with small children) and 14 miles to 25 and 37 miles, which are a little hillier and more appropriate for experienced, adult riders.

Want a challenge? There’s a fun, hilly “metric century” of 64 miles! All routes have GPS files available through our website, bikeforthewoods.org, that you can download to your phone or bike computer, and all except the southern half of the 64 mile route is “arrowed”.

All rides pass by conservation land in Stow and surrounding towns and avoid busy streets. The longer routes (25 and up) pass through Stow, Harvard, Littleton, and Acton, and the 64 mile route adds mileage in Hudson, Bolton and Marlborough. Refreshments are provided at a water stop that you will pass at mile 13 and again (on the 37 and 64) at mile 24.

    Register now at bikeforthewoods.org!

Advance registration is $25 per adult/$15 per child 12 and under ($55 maximum for a family), day of event registration is $30 per adult/$20 per child ($60 maximum for a family). All proceeds benefit the Stow Conservation Trust and help protect land in Stow!

So enjoy a great bike ride, bring the whole family, and benefit a great cause!
