The AMC is hosting a week-long gravel biking festival at one of their lodges in Northern Maine (Medawisla Lodge & Cabins), east of Greeneville and Moosehead Lake. The festival runs from Sunday July 9 - Sunday July 16 and will feature guided rides, speakers, yoga, beer, etc.
The area has miles of gravel roads ranging from hero gravel to class VI. The roads provide access to beautiful vistas, remote undeveloped lakes with canoes for use, etc. There is very little car traffic (and occasional logging traffic). If you have not been to the 100 mile wilderness in Maine, it is worth the trip and has multiple things to do besides gravel biking (swim, canoe/kayak, fish or hike).
