Ride Description:

Intuitive albeit incredible. Yes, some CRW members are attempting to Everest on a single ride. Not familiar with Everesting? Here's a good (as any) place to start: https://everesting.cc/ If the whole 29,029 ft or 8,848 meters is not your cup of tea, we have some ideas for you to consider:

  1. Team Everesting - a way for you to ride as many or few reps as you want, and help your team get to the summit, although it will not count for recording purposes it's still fun. Teams of 2, 4 and 8 riders can be formed. One head unit per team (you can choose which one you want, but this head unit will have to record all reps and total the 29,029 ft elevation).
  2. Slowest climb - Think you can climb slowly? Let's see who takes the most time to complete one climb.
  3. QOM/KOM - You may not want to do too many reps, but perhaps chase your PR or even the best time of all participants? Give it a shot... or two... or tree if you are really feeling it!
  4. Support your friends by riding - Believe me when I saw, having someone to ride alongside you when you are hanging by the skin of your teeth makes all the difference in the world. Be there for one or more of your ride mates.
  5. Support your friends by... supporting - Just be there, help handing out food or hydration, helping with mechanicals, fixing a flat, or just shouting someone's name. All this help and won't cost you anything!

Equipment requirements:

Given its early start time, riders have to use headlights and taillights. If you are attempting at everesting you should take care of your nutrition and hydration. Bring a power-pack so that your head unit don't run out of juice before or on your last rep. Consider bringing a yoga mat for stretching and laying down every other climb. There are several guides online (like this) on what else to bring.

Ride Start Location:

We are still considering several options based on quality of pavement, low traffic and absence of snow. For the time being, we are 80% committed to:

Other options, if need be:

Ride Leader(s):

Andre Wolff - andregwolff@gmail.com - 857 320-9374
Harold Hatch -

Logistics:

We have booked Pamela's AirBnB for the weekend and she graciously is open to allow riders to camp in her backyard. If you want a bed and is willing to share the fee, please DM Andre. We will have access to a shared toilet and ways to prepare breakfast and cook food for the day of. Plan on start riding at 5:00AM or before so that you make the most of daylight. Be on the watch out for a training ride in April where we will be able to test the equipment and road conditions.
