Ride Description:
Some feel that Massachusetts is the center of the universe. And given that Rutland, MA is the geographic center of Massachusetts, this ride goes to the center of the universe! There is also a specific tree (with a marker) in Rutland that is the exact center, called Central Tree. This ride doesn’t go to it, but goes to the next best thing- the Center Tree Bar and Grill as a lunch stop. This is a gravel ride. All rides are about 50% dirt, and they all include long sections on the Massachusetts Central Rail Trail, along with numerous dirt roads. There are some short sections that are slightly technical (<.1mi on the short ride, <.3mi on the longer rides). Walk these if you are not comfortable! Poor weather cancels.
