Ride Description:

The ride leaves PROMPTLY from the Minuteman Bikeway terminus near Alewife. A variation on the Praline Croissant ride, but faster and longer. With less bike path, no Horn Pond dog dodging, and an additional loop around Mystic Lakes, this ride is for women, women-identifying, and non-binary riders looking for a quicker pace (16+ mph) and paceline work. The ride is show-and-go and will not necessarily regroup if riders are dropped so be sure to have the route downloaded before the ride starts. Ride leader may amend route for safety or time constraints.

Ride Start Location:

Ride starts at the Cambridge Minuteman trailhead. To reach by subway, take the MBTA Red Line to the Alewife Station. Bicycles are allowed on weekends and during off-peak hours on weekdays; see for details.

To reach the Cambridge Minuteman trailhead by car from I-95, take Exit 29A to MA 2 toward Boston. Go 5.9 miles and take the Alewife Station exit. The Alewife Station Access Road becomes Steel Place. Go 0.4 mile and turn left into the parking garage (fee charged).

The Minuteman Bikeway starts on the north side of the Alewife building, at the intersection of Steel Pl and Alewife Station Access Rd. This is the intersection of three bike paths: Fitchburg Cutoff, Alewife Linear, and Minuteman.

Rain or unsafe weather/road conditions cancels. Will make call by 9 pm the night before and confirm again at 6 am in case of unexpected weather.

Ride Leader(s):

The Women's Program's goal is to invite more women, nonbinary, and female-identifying folks onto the road, foster connection with other women in the club, and act as an on-ramp to other co-ed areas of the club. Feel free to contact the ride leader via email if you have any questions about this ride or the Women's Program in general.
