Ride Description:

NOTE: Rain date is in effect. We ride on Saturday, March 30.

Join CRW to celebrate Women's History Month with an ALLIES RIDE on our popular Praline Croissant route. Stretch your early-season legs on a friendly, social ride that is open to all genders!

Please arrive, ready to ride, by 8:55 AM. The ride leaves PROMPTLY at 9 AM from the Minuteman Bikeway terminus near Alewife (at the intersection of three bike paths: Fitchburg Cutoff, Alewife Linear, and Minuteman). We head down the Minuteman Bikeway to Lexington Center, then to Burlington and up Blanchard Rd to regroup at the water tower at Mary Cummings Park. We descend to beautiful Horn Pond for a photo op, spin past Mystic Lakes, and head back to Alewife via the Minuteman.

Option to stop near the end for a coffee at Kickstand in Arlington Center.

Pace:

  • Plan on a social 13-16 mph pace
  • We will ride with caution and respect around pedestrians
  • We will regroup where safe to do so, and stop for photo ops
  • Please have the route downloaded to your navigation device and be aware that you may be riding alone before regrouping occurs

Cancellation:

Rain or unsafe weather/road conditions cancels. Will make call by 10 pm the night before.

Ride Start Location:

Minuteman Bikeway Terminus, Alewife Station Access Rd and Steel Place, Cambridge, MA

Parking: Alewife T Station or street parking in the neighborhoods in East Arlington, just up the bike path.

This ride is presented by CRW's Women's/Nonbinary Program. Our goal is to invite more women, nonbinary, and female-identifying folks onto the road, foster connection with others in the club, and act as an on-ramp to other co-ed areas of the club. Feel free to contact the ride leader via email if you have any questions about this ride or the Women's/Nonbinary Program in general.
