Get ready for the Spring season by honing in your skills at our second 2024 pacelining workshop, led by CRW-Devo instructors!

  • In this workshop, you’ll learn…
    • How to safely ride in a single paceline
    • How to communicate while in a paceline
    • How to behave while riding in a paceline
    • About other types of pacelines
    • How to ride efficiently in a paceline

You’ll practice these skills on a controlled environment (parking lot) and receive individualized feedback.

We hope you’ll ride away with new strategies for how to implement these techniques and practice your pacelining skills going forward.

This workshop is geared towards advanced beginner, and intermediate riders. Ideally, you…
  • Are a CRW member (no guests, sorry)
  • Ride regularly (~ 2-3/week) and/or have solid baseline fitness and basic bike handling skills
  • Feel comfortable using signals while riding (sometimes riding with just one hand in the handlebar)
  • Want to enjoy drafting behind your ride partners

The selected training ground has reduced car traffic and presents a good environment to learn the basics of pacelining, even if at lower speeds. Instructors may be able to take the participants out for a short test ride to put the learnings into practice.

In order to ensure everyone has time to safely practice, we’re capping attendance at 16 riders, but will offer a waitlist for ad hoc additions.

Location: MBTA Lincoln Station Parking Lot  (Google Maps link), meet in the parking lot at the sign

We’ll start promptly at 8:30AM, so please arrive 15 min ahead of time.

The instructors expectations are:

  • You fit the ride level described above
  • Your equipment is in working order
  • You will abide by the club's riding guidelines (wearing helmet, etc...)
  • You will behave accordingly
