Ride Description:
A ride starting in downtown Waltham, quickly reaching leafy suburbs west of Route 128, with after-ride access to the Waltham artists' open studios. Parking is free in downtown Waltham on Sundays, and so is is the artists' open house. There are restrooms and you may stop for lunch in Concord or Weston on the long ride; in Weston on the short ride. Open Studios Web site. There are restrooms and refreshments at the open studios, and Waltham's Moody Street is renowned as Restaurant Row.
Ride Start Location:
The ride will start from the City Hall parking lot but parking space is limited there. If registrations are approaching 25, I'll remove the limit but you then need to park in the parking deck at 26 Lexington Street, one block away. There is a beam above the entrance of the parking deck -- caution if you are using a rooftop bike rack. Lexington street is one-way southbound from School Street. Reach School Street from Elm Street if coming from Watertown on Route 20; from Bacon Street if from coming from the west. The Waltham stop on the Fitchburg commuter rail line is on block from the ride start.
