Why Paceline?
Riding into a headwind is harder than riding in no wind. Riding in a draft (e.g., behind another rider) makes riding easy. Riders can share the load of breaking the wind for the group. Riders take turns at the front, doing more work, then drop back and spend time in the draft taking it easy.
Those who have always wanted to ride a paceline will be shown how to do this safely and effectively within small groups of about 5 each.
NOTE: Speed is NOT the objective for this instruction session, rather to get attendees comfortable riding closely together, safely and predictably, and exchanging the lead rider.
This clinic, or extensive paceline experience, is a prerequisite for joining the Speedy Croissant Ride.
