Ride Description:
This is it, the most challenging single climb in all Zwiftendom: Mount Ventoux!
13 miles, 5033' of climbing. I won't sugar coat it, it's a grind. Expect at least 2 hours of climbing. But if you've ever wanted to do this, doing it in a group is easier than alone.
This is as much a psychological challenge as a physical one. The trick as always is to find that cadence that you can sustain.
We WILL use the coffee break option, probably a couple times. I recommend having a couple of water bottles and something to eat ready. My secret weapon is to have something caffeinated when I feel like giving up.
You CAN do this! And after you do, when someone mentions Mt Ventoux, you can nod knowingly and say "Yeah, I did that."
Note 8:30 start time.
BTW at 1 km before the summit we will pass the Tom Simpson memorial, the cyclist who died climbing Ventoux in the 1967 TDF.
Rubber band and Discord will be on to hear all the gasping and wheezing. If you're not on the CRW Discord server, use the link below for an invitation to join.
